Carlton Career

Recruited from Mitiamo, Sheldon, a rover, debuted with the Carlton Football Club in 1977. Ken Sheldon wore the number 5 guernsey. In 1979 he enjoyed a stellar season, booting 53 goals and leading Carlton's goalkicking for that year. In the 1979 Grand Final, Sheldon is best remembered for receiving the ball from the sliding Wayne Harmes and kicking the winning goal to give the Blues a premiership win over Collingwood.

Sheldon was also a part of the Blues' 1981 and 1982 premiership sides.
