Keith Richards

Keith Richards (born 18 December 1943) is an English musician, songwriter and founding member of an English rock band The Rolling Stones. Rolling Stone magazine said Richards had created "rock's greatest single body of riffs," ranking him 4th on its list of 100 best guitarists. Fourteen songs Richards wrote with the Rolling Stones' lead vocalist Mick Jagger are listed among Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time." Richards's notoriety for illicit drug use stems in part from several drug busts during the late 1960s and 1970s and his candor regarding his addiction to, and eventual abstinence from, heroin.

Famous quotes containing the words keith and/or richards:

You can never have a revolution in order to establish a democracy. You must have a democracy in order to have a revolution.
    —Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936)

...some sort of false logic has crept into our schools, for the people whom I have seen doing housework or cooking know nothing of botany or chemistry, and the people who know botany and chemistry do not cook or sweep. The conclusion seems to be, if one knows chemistry she must not cook or do housework.
    —Ellen Henrietta Swallow Richards (1842–1911)
