Kediri Regency

Kediri is a kabupaten located in East Java province, Indonesia.

Kediri regency is located in East Java province, Indonesia. Kelud mountain, one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia, is located in Kediri. The capital of the regency is Kediri city. The regency borders Jombang to the north, Malang to the east, Blitar and Tulungagung to the south, and Nganjuk to the west.

The regency also contains the famed "Kampung Inggris", or English Village. Kampung Inggris is a small area in the sub-district of Pare where over a hundred businesses offering various English courses are clustered. Students come from all over Indonesia to take courses in the English Village, where it is common for people to speak with each other in English (rather than Indonesian or Javanese) for the sake of practice.
