History
Originally, KCPM was a UPN affiliate launched in 2003 to fill the void when Minneapolis/St. Paul UPN affiliate KMSP-TV was being dropped by area cable television systems due to its affiliation switch to Fox. KCPM was the first full-time UPN affiliate in North Dakota (Fox affiliates KNDX & KXND serving the western half of North Dakota aired UPN programming after primetime). Fox affiliate KVRR aired UPN programming after primetime until 1998 since KMSP-TV was available on cable in most areas.
