Early Years
Despite being raised in northern California, Justin was born in St. Louis. With his grandfather he watched local Midwest racers such as Dick Trickle, Ken Schrader, and the Wallace brothers battle on Midwest dirt. At 14, his father bought tickets to see the 1995 Indianapolis 500, a race which Jacques Villeneuve won. It was during this race that Justin decided to pursue a life in motorsports. Justin competed in his first race in 1998 in the street stock division at Altamont Raceway Park in Tracy, California.

Famous quotes containing the words early years, early and/or years:
“Parents ... are sometimes a bit of a disappointment to their children. They dont fulfil the promise of their early years.”
—Anthony Powell (b. 1905)
“In the early forties and fifties almost everybody had about enough to live on, and young ladies dressed well on a hundred dollars a year. The daughters of the richest man in Boston were dressed with scrupulous plainness, and the wife and mother owned one brocade, which did service for several years. Display was considered vulgar. Now, alas! only Queen Victoria dares to go shabby.”
—M. E. W. Sherwood (18261903)
“Flood-tide below me! I see you face to face!
Clouds of the westsun there half an hour
highI see you also face to face.
Crowds of men and women attired in the usual costumes, how curious you are to me!
On the ferry-boats the hundreds and hundreds that cross, returning
home, are more curious to me than you suppose,
And you that shall cross from shore to shore years hence are more to me, and more in my meditations, than you might suppose.”
—Walt Whitman (18191892)
