Early Years

Despite being raised in northern California, Justin was born in St. Louis. With his grandfather he watched local Midwest racers such as Dick Trickle, Ken Schrader, and the Wallace brothers battle on Midwest dirt. At 14, his father bought tickets to see the 1995 Indianapolis 500, a race which Jacques Villeneuve won. It was during this race that Justin decided to pursue a life in motorsports. Justin competed in his first race in 1998 in the street stock division at Altamont Raceway Park in Tracy, California.
