History
From 1997 to 2001, Johor Darul Takzim FC played in the second-tier football league in Malaysia, the Malaysia Premier League (which was then known as the Premier-Two League), and was the champion for the season 2001, thus earning promotion to the Malaysia Super League for the following season. In 2012, Johor Football Association (PBNJ) took over this team. In December 2012, the name changed from Johor FC to Johor Darul Takzim FC.
