Batch Queuing For HPC Clusters
An important niche for job schedulers is managing the job queue for a cluster of computers. Typically, the scheduler will schedule jobs from the queue as sufficient resources (cluster nodes) become idle. Some widely used cluster batch systems are Argent Job Scheduler®, Oracle Grid Engine, Portable Batch System, LoadLeveler, Condor, OAR and Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management.

Famous quotes containing the words batch and/or clusters:
“And so it goes, back and forth, good church-members all, which means that their banter contains nothing off-color, and by the same token, nothing that was coined later than the first batch of buffalo nickels.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
“What wondrous life in this I lead!
Ripe apples drop about my head;
The luscious clusters of the vine
Upon my mouth do crush their wine;
The nectarine and curious peach
Into my hands themselves do reach;
Stumbling on melons, as I pass,
Ensnared with flowers, I fall on grass.”
—Andrew Marvell (16211678)
