Subdivision and Population
Jingdezhen belonged to Fuliang County for most of its history (particularly when it was Changnan Town). However, now the administrative hierarchy is inverted; Fuliang County now is part of Jingdezhen City. At present, Jingdezhen is divided into 1 county, 1 county city, and two districts.
- Zhushan District is Jingdezhen's center; most of its industrial and commercial enterprises are in this area, which comprises over nine towns and townships with a total population of 279,357 in 2007.
- Changjiang District is one of the two districts of Jingdezhen, comprising six towns and townships with a total population of 170,229 in 2007.
- Leping is a county-level city governed by Jingdezhen. Leping comprises 18 towns and townships with a population of 832,142 in its administrative zone.
- Fuliang County comprises 17 towns and townships with a population of 280,029 in 2007. It is the largest of the four areas.

Famous quotes containing the words subdivision and/or population:
“I have no doubt but that the misery of the lower classes will be found to abate whenever the Government assumes a freer aspect and the laws favor a subdivision of Property.”
—James Madison (17511836)
“It was a time of madness, the sort of mad-hysteria that always presages war. There seems to be nothing left but warwhen any population in any sort of a nation gets violently angry, civilization falls down and religion forsakes its hold on the consciences of human kind in such times of public madness.”
—Rebecca Latimer Felton (18351930)
