Apart from the Jhargram municipality, the subdivision contains rural areas of 79 gram panchayats under eight community development blocks: Binpur–I, Binpur–II, Jamboni, Jhargram, Gopiballavpur–I, Gopiballavpur–II, Nayagram and Sankrail. There is no urban area under these eight blocks.
