Famous quotes containing the words james, vaughan and/or born:
“Maternity is on the face of it an unsocial experience. The selfishness that a woman has learned to stifle or to dissemble where she alone is concerned, blooms freely and unashamed on behalf of her offspring.”
—Emily James Putnam (18651944)
“So stick up ivy and the bays,
And then restore the heathen ways,
Green will remind you of the Spring,
Though this great day denies the thing,
And mortifies the earth, and all,
But your wild revels, and loose hall.”
