Jacoby Shaddix - Appearance

Appearance

Shaddix has many tattoos. One of the first tattoos he got was when he was 21 years old, his wife's name across his left arm. "Born To Rock" is bared across the top of his chest. On his left knuckles he has "Love" and on his right knuckles he has "Hate". On the left side of his chest, he has a Queen surrounded by water, and on the right is a king surrounded by flames. Jacoby says this represents the good and evil in him. On his right arm he has a scroll which reads, "Here Lies Jacoby Dakota Shaddix" and underneath reads, "Born With Nothing, Die With Everything", which is also the name of one of the band's songs from LoveHateTragedy. His sons' names are tattooed on his wrist. On his left arm he has a house in flames, which references the band's song "Broken Home", and a coffin which references their song "Harder Than A Coffin Nail". On the back of his neck, Jacoby and his wife Kelly have the Chinese symbol for love, which he spoke about in an episode of MTV Cribs.

Famous quotes containing the word appearance:

The fear of death is indeed the pretence of wisdom, and not real wisdom, being the appearance of knowing the unknown.
    Plato (c. 427–347 B.C.)

Most lovers ... picture to themselves, in their mistresses, a secret reality, beyond and different from what they see every day. They are in love with somebody else—their own invention. And sometimes there is a secret reality; and sometimes reality and appearance are the same. The discovery, in either case, is likely to cause a shock.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)

Though an unpleasant sort of person, and even a queer threatener withal, yet, if one meets him, one must get along with him as one can; for his ignorance is extreme. And what under heaven indeed should such a phantasm as Death know, for all that the Appearance tacitly claims to be somebody that knows much?
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)
