In 2006, Hildebrand graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur, California as a National Merit Scholar with a 4.12 GPA. While in high school, he also played varsity baseball. He applied and was accepted by several top universities, including UCLA, Berkeley and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. M.I.T who granted a three-year deferral, but he eventually allowed it to lapse as he continued to pursue his racing career.
