Ivane Javakhishvili

Ivane Javakhishvili (Georgian: ივანე ჯავახიშვილი) (April 11, 1876 – November 18, 1940) was a Georgian historian whose voluminous works heavily influenced the modern scholarship of the history and culture of Georgia. He was also one of the founding fathers of the Tbilisi State University (1918) and its rector from 1919 to 1926.
