Release and Promotion
It Was All a Dream was released on January 23, 2001. It spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #6. The album sold 1.5 million copies worldwide and was certified gold by the RIAA on February 21, 2001, then platinum on March 5, 2001.
In order to promote the album, two singles were released: "He Loves U Not" and "This is Me". "He Loves U Not" was released on September 12, 2000 and was a transatlantic hit, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, #15 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, #17 on the UK Singles Chart and #35 on the Australia ARIA Singles Chart. "This is Me" was released on May 1, 2001 and although it wasn't as successful as "He Loves U Not", it did peak at #39 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #80 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. "Miss You" and "In My Dreams" were supposed to be released as the album's third and fourth singles, but due to the September 11 attacks, plans for their release were cancelled.
To further promote the album, Dream toured with 'N Sync on their No Strings Attached Tour in November 2000 and toured with Destiny's Child, Eve, Jessica Simpson, 3LW and Nelly on the MTV TRL Tour in 2001. Dream also made several guest appearances on television shows including TRL, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, The Early Show, Live With Regis and Kelly and Good Morning America.

Famous quotes containing the words release and/or promotion:
“The steel decks rock with the lightning shock, and shake with the
great recoil,
And the sea grows red with the blood of the dead and reaches for his spoil
But not till the foe has gone below or turns his prow and runs,
Shall the voice of peace bring sweet release to the men behind the
guns!”
—John Jerome Rooney (18661934)
“I am asked if I would not be gratified if my friends would procure me promotion to a brigadier-generalship. My feeling is that I would rather be one of the good colonels than one of the poor generals. The colonel of a regiment has one of the most agreeable positions in the service, and one of the most useful. A good colonel makes a good regiment, is an axiom.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
