Bandy is a very big sport in the city. There are several clubs, and the best one, Baykal-Energiya in the highest division of Russian Bandy League, can draw spectator crowds of 30,000. It's also the centre of women's bandy in Russia with the club Rekord, which provides most players to the national team. The Bandy World Championships for women 2012 was hosted in Irkutsk and received praise from Federation of International Bandy. In 2014 it will time for the men´s tournament.
