Interior Division is an administrative division of Sabah, east Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. It occupies the southwest portion of Sabah, bordering on Sarawak. With an area of 18,298 square kilometers, it has 24.9% of Sabah's territory, and has approximately 14.7% of Sabah's total population.
The main towns include Beaufort, Kuala Penyu, Sipitang, Tenom, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan. Longpasia is the southernmost township on the Indonesian border. It has an airstrip that provides domestic air service once a week operated by Malaysia Airlines. This is the only means of contact with the outside world.
