The authority is part of the Department of Infrastructure and Transport. The Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Anthony Albanese is the responsible Minister and Minister for Regional Services, Local Communities and Territories Catherine King is the Parliamentary Secretary.

It has 11 members: Sir Rod Eddington (Chair), Terry Moran, Dr Ken Henry, Jim Hallion, Anthony Kannis, Dr Kerry Schott, Prof. Peter Newman, Mark Birrell, Phil Hennessy, Heather Ridout, Ross Rolfe and Garry Weaven.

Famous quotes containing the word australia:

It is very considerably smaller than Australia and British Somaliland put together. As things stand at present there is nothing much the Texans can do about this, and ... they are inclined to shy away from the subject in ordinary conversation, muttering defensively about the size of oranges.
