Tadeusz Sulimirski has identified the Asian Jats directly with the Sacae. Weer Rajendra Rishi (a Padma Shri awardee) has identified the Asian Jats directly with the Massagetaeans, a Sacae people.

According to the writer Shivaram Shetty, it is likely that a number of communities in South Asia, mainly in the northwestern regions can be descended partially from the Indo-Scythians especially the Jat people, Nairs and the Bunts
