School Events
Every year, I.L.S holds an annual even which is alternatingly a sports day and an annual day. The annual day is a cultural show usually hosted in the Nigerian Law School Auditorium. It most often consists of Dances related to the general theme of the annual day. students prepare months in advance for the annual day, missing numerous classes in the process, which obviously means that the 12th grade teachers like Mrs Khullar and Mr Tanny bear a grudge against it :D Ils was supposed to hold a Sports day in 2008 but since it was its 25th year, an annual day was held, making it such that the 2009 sports day is the first since 2005. The sports day consists of aerobic dances using vivid props such as pom-poms (made of polyethene, and hence moral enemies for the green Brigade) and brightly coloured flags, and uniforms. the students dance in various formations like the Indian flag, The Nigerian flag, flowers, Word formations etc.Recently in the sports day Anwesha Sanyal, Preethika Chivukula, Sonakshi Deshmukh, Harsh Dhanuka, etc. performed their great skills of taekwondo in front of everyone by doing dangerous stunts like breaking bricks.
I.L.S Celebrates teachers day, which falls on 5 September by setting up a show by the students, where they are welcome to do just about anything they wish to entertain their mentors.
I.L.S also celebrates children's day, 14 November, but the true celebration takes place in the form of a fair or 'bal-mela' where the school is converted into a funhouse. students are allowed to keep game stalls and what not.
The year ending party, or Christmas party is held in early December before December holidays start. Each class is allowed to deck up for a party by bringing music systems and food, etc.

Famous quotes containing the words school and/or events:
“The first rule of education for me was discipline. Discipline is the keynote to learning. Discipline has been the great factor in my life. I discipline myself to do everythinggetting up in the morning, walking, dancing, exercise. If you wont have discipline, you wont have a nation. We cant have permissiveness. When someone comes in and says, Oh, your room is so quiet, I know Ive been successful.”
—Rose Hoffman, U.S. public school third-grade teacher. As quoted in Working, book 8, by Studs Terkel (1973)
“When the course of events shall have removed you to distant scenes of action where laurels not nurtured with the blood of my country may be gathered, I shall urge sincere prayers for your obtaining every honor and preferment which may gladden the heart of a soldier.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
