In The Region of The Summer Stars - Story

Story

In The Region Of The Summer Stars was originally composed as a largely vocal album, but recording plans had to be drastically and hurriedly reviewed when Peter Roberts, the band's singer and irreplaceable frontman killed himself on New Year's Day, 1975. The band, under the leadership of Robert John Godfrey, reconstructed the music for a purely instrumental line-up. The original name decided for the album was "The Voyage of the Acolyte", However Steve Hackett released an album with the same name and a similar concept.

Famous quotes containing the word story:

A story of particular facts is a mirror which obscures and distorts that which should be beautiful; poetry is a mirror which makes beautiful that which it distorts.
    Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)

I like to compare the holiday season with the way a child listens to a favorite story. The pleasure is in the familiar way the story begins, the anticipation of familiar turns it takes, the familiar moments of suspense, and the familiar climax and ending.
    Fred Rogers (20th century)

We have defined a story as a narrative of events arranged in their time-sequence. A plot is also a narrative of events, the emphasis falling on causality. “The king died and then the queen died” is a story. “The king died, and then the queen died of grief” is a plot. The time sequence is preserved, but the sense of causality overshadows it.
