Eduardo Rivadavia from Allmusic called In All Languages a "near-perfect career synthesis". He praised the inclusion of the tracks of the second disc which, according to him, "become especially relevant for a full appreciation of the band" and are " great place to start discovering Godflesh". His only regret was the fact that it couldn't feature songs from the band's last record, Hymns.

“An audience is never wrong. An individual member of it may be an imbecile, but a thousand imbeciles together in the darkthat is critical genius.”
—Billy Wilder (b. 1906)
“Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybodys face but their own; which is the chief reason for that kind of reception it meets in the world, and that so very few are offended with it.”
