I Robot (album) - Musical Style

Musical Style

This album has strong influences from soul, funk and disco music, especially in tracks like "I Robot", "I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" and "The Voice", mixed with some influences from early electro and synth-pop music. It also sounds very close to Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" (which Alan Parsons engineered) and "Animals" albums, with a more commercial pop oriented sound.

Famous quotes containing the words musical and/or style:

    That vast moth-eaten musical brocade
Created to pretend we never die ...
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

Carlyle must undoubtedly plead guilty to the charge of mannerism. He not only has his vein, but his peculiar manner of working it. He has a style which can be imitated, and sometimes is an imitator of himself.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
