Jeff Beck Version
English rock guitarist Jeff Beck recorded "I Ain't Superstitious" for the 1968 debut album Truth by the Jeff Beck Group, featuring Rod Stewart on vocals. Called "a well-known classic-rock-radio staple", Beck's version is "an inventive and inspired recording that manages to inject even more power into the updated arrangement". The song's prominent feature is Beck's guitar work. "At every break, Beck's aqueous wah-wah tone makes his instrument sound like it's talking". Jeff Beck's version was ranked number 86 on Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time".

Famous quotes containing the words jeff, beck and/or version:
“Resorts advertised for waitresses, specifying that they must appear in short clothes or no engagement. Below a Gospel Guide column headed, Where our Local Divines Will Hang Out Tomorrow, was an account of spirited gun play at the Bon Ton. In Jeff Winneys California Concert Hall, patrons bucked the tiger under the watchful eye of Kitty Crawhurst, popular lady gambler.”
—Administration in the State of Colo, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
“In front of that sinner of a husband,
she rattled off
only those words
that her pack of vile-tongued girlfriends
taught her
as fast as she could,
and after,
began to behave
at the Love-gods beck and call.
Its indescribable,
this natural, charming
path of love,
paved with the gems
of inexperience.”
—Amaru (c. seventh century A.D.)
“It is never the thing but the version of the thing:
The fragrance of the woman not her self,
Her self in her manner not the solid block,
The day in its color not perpending time,
Time in its weather, our most sovereign lord,
The weather in words and words in sounds of sound.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
