Ronnie Whelan junior was sold to Liverpool in 1979 and helped them win a host of major trophies during the 1980s and early 1990s.Liam Brady joined Arsenal from Home Farm as a 15-year-old in 1971 and went on to become a key part of the Arsenal side over the next decade.Defender Gary Kelly left Home Farm for Leeds United at the beginning of the 1990s and played more than 500 games for them until retiring as a player in 2007.Kelly's nephew Ian Harte, just three years his junior, followed him to Leeds from Home Farm in 1995 and remained with them for the next nine years, and as of 2012 is still playing senior football for Reading in his mid thirties.

Famous quotes containing the words notable and/or players:

In one notable instance, where the United States Army and a hundred years of persuasion failed, a highway has succeeded. The Seminole Indians surrendered to the Tamiami Trail. From the Everglades the remnants of this race emerged, soon after the trail was built, to set up their palm-thatched villages along the road and to hoist tribal flags as a lure to passing motorists.
—For the State of Florida, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

The players have often mentioned it as an honour to Shakespeare, that in his writing, whatsoever he penned, he never blotted out [a] line. My answer hath been, “Would he had blotted a thousand.”
    Ben Jonson (c. 1572–1637)
