Paxcroft Mead has numerous green recreational spaces and two fast food outlets, a card shop, a Budgens supermarket, a salon, a shoe shop, a pharmacy and a carpenter's. The Marston's Pub Company recently (2011) opened a pub restaurant, The Red Admiral, adjacent to the shopping area. There is a free house pub, the Lion and Fiddle, in the old quarter of the village on Devizes Road. The post office and general stores in the old quarter was closed in 2004, though a petrol station (including small shop) remains in place. The village hall on Whaddon Lane is the social hub of the older part of Hilperton, and the adjoining football pitch plays home to Hilperton United FC.
