High Technology High School, or HTHS, founded in 1991, is a four-year Magnet public high school located in Lincroft, New Jersey, operated as a cooperative effort between the Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD) and Brookdale Community College. It is a pre-engineering academy, offering courses such as Introduction to Engineering and Design, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Principles of Engineering. It is a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology. The school has been accredited since 1995 by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools. According to 2011 Newsweek statistics, High Technology High School students registered an average SAT score of 2145, the highest of any U.S. high school; overall, Newsweek ranked HTHS 18th nationally and the top high school in New Jersey. In 2011, the school was ranked 10th in US News and World Report's listing of "America's Best High Schools". In 2011, HTHS was ranked Number 1 for Best High Schools for Math & Science in U.S. News & World Report
The school opened its doors in 1991 with a sophomore class, later adding a freshman class in the fall of 1995. The student population is kept relatively small, with typically 60-75 students per class year, thus allowing the school to maintain a low student–teacher ratio.
As of the 2009-10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 258 students and 25 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis) for a student–teacher ratio of 10.32:1.

Famous quotes containing the words high school, high, technology and/or school:
“Young people of high school age can actually feel themselves changing. Progress is almost tangible. Its exciting. It stimulates more progress. Nevertheless, growth is not constant and smooth. Erik Erikson quotes an aphorism to describe the formless forming of it. I aint what I ought to be. I aint what Im going to be, but Im not what I was.”
—Stella Chess (20th century)
“Like other high subjects, the Law gives no ground to common sense.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
“If we had a reliable way to label our toys good and bad, it would be easy to regulate technology wisely. But we can rarely see far enough ahead to know which road leads to damnation. Whoever concerns himself with big technology, either to push it forward or to stop it, is gambling in human lives.”
—Freeman Dyson (b. 1923)
“In the first place God made idiots. This was for practice. Then He made School Boards.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (18351910)
