The HS Attached to Hunan Normal Univ. is located on the west bank of Xiang River and at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. The Mountain, the River and the school campus itself, compose a magnificent picture. The school covers an area of 107,000 m2, with a total construction floor space of nearly 90, 000 m2. Notably, 51.1% of the school area is covered by green plants, which is a rather high ratio among the senior high schools in China. There are also some remarkable architecture on the campus, including Celebrity Hall, Monument ‘Yearning’, Park Zhuo, Park Rong and so forth. The most extraordinary one monument is named 'Ascent' for the name of those Gold Medal(see above) recipients carved on it. This is the symbol indicating the school’s superiority in the realm of education.

There are four main teaching buildings on the campus, namely ‘Wei Yi’ Building, ‘Guang Yi’ Building, ‘Yun Lu’ Building and Science Building where there are laboratories for experimental classes. Among the four, the ‘Wei Yi’ Building is the largest and most splendid one, possessing 60 classroom in total. Origin of the ‘Wei Yi’ Building can be traced back to 1954, when its name was 'Teaching Building' and it was the only teaching facility on campus. The name 'Wei Yi' is in memory of the ‘Wei Yi School’, the initial name of the school. The architect structure of 'Wei Yi' Building is quite unique: instead of being used as classrooms, the first floor has a ‘Celebrity Hall’ where 66 sets of brief biographies of 66 prominent figures in history are hung against pillars that support the building. Every classroom in 'Wei Yi' building, 'Guang Yi' Building and 'Yun Lu' Building is equipped with an 52’ LCD TV and a computer, providing accessibility to digitalized teaching. The school also has a library which contains about 120 thousand books, ranging from natural sciences to humanity sciences. It is a four-floor building close to the 'Wei Yi' Building.

Another salient construction is the Student Center. Completed in 2005, it was a present from alumni dedicated to the school's 100th anniversary. Since then, the Student Center has been holding all major meetings and plays thanks to its large capacity and advanced acoustic system.
