High Plains Uranium - Major Projects

Major Projects

Allemand-Ross Project: The project is centered at the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. The area was previously explored by Conoco in the 1970s and 1980s.

High Plains announced the completion of a test program at the site in January 2006. The program provided the company with information of the area's uranium content and amenability to mining by in-situ leaching.

Swinney Switch Project: The project is spread between Live Oak County and Bee County, Texas. The area was explored by Texas Oil and Gas in the late 1970s. About 1.2 million pounds of in-situ uranium is present at the site.

Famous quotes containing the words major and/or projects:

As a novelist, I cannot occupy myself with “characters,” or at any rate central ones, who lack panache, in one or another sense, who would be incapable of a major action or a major passion, or who have not a touch of the ambiguity, the ultimate unaccountability, the enlarging mistiness of persons “in history.” History, as more austerely I now know it, is not romantic. But I am.
    Elizabeth Bowen (1899–1973)

But look what we have built ... low-income projects that become worse centers of delinquency, vandalism and general social hopelessness than the slums they were supposed to replace.... Cultural centers that are unable to support a good bookstore. Civic centers that are avoided by everyone but bums.... Promenades that go from no place to nowhere and have no promenaders. Expressways that eviscerate great cities. This is not the rebuilding of cities. This is the sacking of cities.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)
