Herry Monster - Retirement

Retirement

Herry has been one of Nelson's main characters on Sesame Street for more than three decades. During the 2000s, Nelson, citing health reasons, would limit his performing and focus most of his time on his most famous character The Count. For this reason, Herry, unlike Grover or Cookie Monster, is no longer used regularly. He still makes minor appearances, such as 2004's Sesame Street Presents: The Street We Live On and 2006's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Recently, he makes non-speaking appearances on the Sesame Street DVDs Dinosaurs and Elmo's Christmas Countdown.

We may boldly spend, upon the hope
Of what is to come in.
