Hassouneh Al-Sheikh - International Career

International Career

Hassouneh is one of the previous players, as well as one of the previous captains of his national team. He retired internationally after his last match against Kuwait in the 2010 WAFF Championship. Although that's when he retired internationally, he actually planned on retiring from his international career before 2009, but was offered by head coach of Jordan Adnan Hamad to rejoin his national team and play in the 2011 Asian Cup qualification matches.

The mark of Hassouneh's international retirement took place in an international friendly match between his country Jordan and Uzbekistan at the Amman International Stadium on August 13, 2012. After playing the first five minutes of the match, Hassouneh left the field, passed on the captain arm band to his goal keeping teammate Amer Shafia and his #8 jersey to his teammate and player of Al-Faisaly Khalil Bani Attiah.
