Harsha - Ancestry

Ancestry

Harsha was born in Thanesar (present day in Hariyana state). Thanesar is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage center and one of the 51 Shaktipeeth. It is now a small town in the vicinity of the newly created Kurukshetra in the state of Haryana north of Delhi. The name Pushpabhuti is the key to Harsha's origins and the relevant reference point is an inscription dated 181 and found at Gunda in the state of Gujarat. It states that the Yaudheya were the original masters of Haryana.
