Harold L. Richards High School - NJROTC

NJROTC

One of the newest additions to the activities at Richards is the commissioning of its very first Naval Junior Reserve Officer Corps. The company of cadets takes on responsibilities in the school such as providing a color guard, drill demonstrations, community service, and other such activities. The unit competes with other units in Area 3 in fields involving Armed IDR Drill, Unarmed IDR Drill, Physical Fitness, Color Guard, Orienteering, Academics, and Air Rifle. In 2009 the unit was presented with the Unit Achievement Award, a remarkable achievement for a first year unit. Cadets in the unit are expected to uphold the importance of citizenship and patriotism, demonstrate proper wear of the uniform, and be effective students.
