Greyhound Lines - Greyhound Community Reflections Mural Program

Greyhound Community Reflections Mural Program

Greyhound Lines and the National Council for La Raza (NCLR) sponsor the Greyhound Community Reflections Mural Program, in which Latino American student artists paint murals reflecting the contributions of Latino Americans. These are posted in Greyhound Stations across the United States. The bus line has had three painted in Texas by 2003.

Famous quotes containing the words greyhound, community, reflections, mural and/or program:

    Why, what a candy deal of courtesy
    This fawning greyhound then did proffer me!
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    ... to a poet, the human community is like the community of birds to a bird, singing to each other. Love is one of the reasons we are singing to one another, love of language itself, love of sound, love of singing itself, and love of the other birds.
    Sharon Olds (b. 1942)

    It is hardly to be believed how spiritual reflections when mixed with a little physics can hold people’s attention and give them a livelier idea of God than do the often ill-applied examples of his wrath.
    —G.C. (Georg Christoph)

    And each of the huge white creatures was huger than fourscore men;
    The tops of their ears were feathered, their hands were the claws of birds,
    And, shaking the plumes of the grasses and the leaves of the mural glen,
    The breathing came from those bodies, long warless, grown whiter than curds.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    The Kid had a lurking devil in him ... It was a good-humored, jovial imp, or a cruel and blood-thirsty fiend, as circumstances prompted. He always laughed when killing, but fire seemed to dart from his eyes.
    State of New Mexico, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
