Grant Nelson - Synthesizer Sound Programming

Synthesizer Sound Programming

In 2000, Grant was commissioned by Korg to work on programming preset sound banks for the Electribe & MS2000 synthesizers. Although his sounds aren't credited in the operating manuals, you can pick some of them out by the names he gave them that reference some of his artist names and record labels. To coincide with the release of the machines to market, there was a promotional CD given away with industry music magazines and at trade fairs that included an audio demonstration by Grant of the Korg Electribe synthesizer.

Famous quotes containing the words sound and/or programming:

Philosophy ... does not talk, but write, or, when it comes personally before an audience, lecture or read; and therefore it must be read to-morrow, or a thousand years hence. But the talker must naturally be attended to at once; he does not talk on without an audience; the winds do not long bear the sound of his voice.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

If there is a price to pay for the privilege of spending the early years of child rearing in the driver’s seat, it is our reluctance, our inability, to tolerate being demoted to the backseat. Spurred by our success in programming our children during the preschool years, we may find it difficult to forgo in later states the level of control that once afforded us so much satisfaction.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)
