Gramps is available in the following languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese from Portugal, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

Gramps also has two special use sub-translation languages:

  • Animal pedigree which allows to keep track of the pedigree and breed of animals
  • Same gender/sex which makes using Gramps far more intuitive when dealing with a same gender family.
