Google Video Marketplace

Google Video Marketplace was announced in a presentation at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show.

"Google's innovative presentation of information and content is revolutionizing the way people access media," said National Basketball Association Commissioner David Stern. "In the increasingly competitive and rapidly changing world of entertainment, Google Video provides us with a new way to deliver the NBA experience to our fans when and how they want it."

The service was unsuccessful and was discontinued in August, 2007.

Famous quotes containing the words video and/or marketplace:

These people figured video was the Lord’s preferred means of communicating, the screen itself a kind of perpetually burning bush. “He’s in the de-tails,” Sublett had said once. “You gotta watch for Him close.”
    William Gibson (b. 1948)

It is the marketplace that calls most clearly for men to be softer, more narcissistic and receptive, and the new man is the result.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
