It was first covered (partially) in 2001, when guitarist/lead vocalist Johnny Rzeznik appeared in an ad for The Gap singing the song along with other artists. The song later appeared as a track on their hit album Let Love In. In May 2006, their version of "Give a Little Bit" was honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) in recognition of being one of the most played songs in the ASCAP repertoire in 2005.

Famous quotes containing the words goo, dolls and/or version:

You with the goo on the suction cup.
You with your wires and electrodes
fastened at my ankle and wrist,
    sucking up the biological breast.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

Why are all these dolls falling out of the sky?
    Was there a father?
Or have the planets cut holes in their nets
    and let our childhood out,
or are we the dolls themselves,
    born but never fed?
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

Exercise is the yuppie version of bulimia.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
