Relationship With Gene Wilder

Radner met actor Gene Wilder on the set of the Sidney Poitier film Hanky Panky, when the two appeared together. She described their first meeting as "love at first sight." She was unable to resist her attraction to Wilder as her marriage to guitarist G. E. Smith deteriorated. Radner went on to make a second film, The Woman in Red, in 1984 with Wilder and their relationship grew. The two were married on September 18, 1984, in St. Tropez. The pair made a third film together, Haunted Honeymoon, released in 1986.

Famous quotes containing the words relationship and/or wilder:

Some [adolescent] girls are depressed because they have lost their warm, open relationship with their parents. They have loved and been loved by people whom they now must betray to fit into peer culture. Furthermore, they are discouraged by peers from expressing sadness at the loss of family relationships—even to say they are sad is to admit weakness and dependency.
    Mary Pipher (20th century)

    Helen: What do you do?
Don: Yes, what do I do? I’m a writer. I’ve just started a novel. As a matter of fact, I’ve started several but I never seem to finish one.
Helen: Well, in that case, why don’t you write short stories?
Don: Oh, I have some of those. The first paragraph.
    —Billy Wilder (b. 1906)
