Gene Stupnitsky

Gene Stupnitsky (born August 26, 1977) is a film and television writer. He usually works with Lee Eisenberg. He was born in Kyiv, Ukraine.

In television, he wrote for the NBC comedy series The Office from seasons 2 to 6, and served as a co-executive producer and directed two episodes with Eisenberg, "Michael Scott Paper Company" and "The Lover". Although he is not credited for directing "The Lover", similarly Eisenberg is not credited for directing "Michael Scott Paper Company", as only one person can be credited with directing the episode. They also directed The Outburst, a webisode series for The Office.

In film, he has three upcoming projects slated, including an untitled CollegeHumor movie, a project with Harold Ramis and Owen Wilson, and a project for DreamWorks.

Along with Eisenberg, he plays one of the Vance Refrigeration delivery guys (Leo) present in several episodes of The Office.

He graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000.

He and Eisenberg wrote the screenplay for the movie Year One.

Stupnitsky and Eisenberg have finished writing the script for Ghostbusters III. The movie will be directed by Ivan Reitman, who directed the original two films. The main characters are all expected to return.

The Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake film, Bad Teacher, released in 2011, was also penned by Stupnitsky and Eisenberg.
