Geography
Gela is situated on the Mediterranean coast at the estuary of Gela river, in the south-western side of Sicily, between Agrigento and Ragusa. The bounding municipalities are Acate, Butera, Caltagirone, Mazzarino and Niscemi. Its frazione is the coastal village of Manfria.
