Gang Busters (serial) - Critical Reception

Critical Reception

The film was very successful in its original release, and was re-released in 1949. Authors Jim Harmon and Donald F. Glut describe Gang Busters as a "well made and interesting serial."

Cline writes that the serial is one of Universal's best and that Professor Mortis is one of the best characters ever created for a serial.

Famous quotes containing the words critical and/or reception:

The critical method which denies literary modernity would appear—and even, in certain respects, would be—the most modern of critical movements.
    Paul Deman (1919–1983)

I gave a speech in Omaha. After the speech I went to a reception elsewhere in town. A sweet old lady came up to me, put her gloved hand in mine, and said, “I hear you spoke here tonight.” “Oh, it was nothing,” I replied modestly. “Yes,” the little old lady nodded, “that’s what I heard.”
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
