Fridhemsplan

Fridhemsplan is an open place in Kungsholmen, Stockholm and the location of a major metro station by the same name, where the blue line and the green line meet. The place was named Fridhemsplan in 1935, after the major street Fridhemsgatan crossing the area. Before that, the area was simply known as Kungsholmen Toll station.

the area around Fridhemsplan is not the trendiest part of Stockholm, but there is a shopping mall, since 2002, (Västermalmsgallerian) that focuses on the young middle-class people who live in the area. It replaced the infamous underground "square" at the intersection of Sankt Eriksgatan and Fleminggatan streets. Fridhemsplan is known for its many low cost bars. Fridhemsplan now also has a major STF hostel.
