French Senior Open

The French Senior Open (or Open de France Senior) is a professional golf tournament for men aged fifty and above on the European Seniors Tour. It was played in 2004 and after a two year hiatus it will be played from 12 to 14 July 2007 at Golf du Domaine de Divonne in Divonne-les-Bains, ten miles north of Geneva. The prize fund will be €325,000.

European Seniors Tour events were held in France in 1992, 1994 and 1998, but it is not clear from the official site whether these are classified as previous incarnations of the current tournament, or as one-off tournaments in their own right.

Famous quotes containing the words french, senior and/or open:

I don’t see what for French Canadians to go to defend a bunch of Poles. I don’t get that at all. I don’t see what they mean to us. And they all one kind government much same like the other.
    Emeric Pressburger (1902–1988)

I suffer whenever I see that common sight of a parent or senior imposing his opinion and way of thinking and being on a young soul to which they are totally unfit. Cannot we let people be themselves, and enjoy life in their own way? You are trying to make that man another you. One’s enough.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

In the greatest confusion there is still an open channel to the soul. It may be difficult to find because by midlife it is overgrown, and some of the wildest thickets that surround it grow out of what we describe as our education. But the channel is always there, and it is our business to keep it open, to have access to the deepest part of ourselves.
    Saul Bellow (b. 1915)
