Freak Out: The Greatest Hits of Chic and Sister Sledge

Freak Out: The Greatest Hits of Chic and Sister Sledge is a greatest hits album of recordings by American R&B bands Chic and Sister Sledge, released by Atlantic Records/WEA in the UK in 1988. The compilation was one of the first to be released on compact disc and includes the remixes of "We Are Family" and "Lost In Music" (by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers themselves) and "Le Freak" (by Stock Aitken Waterman/PWL's Phil Harding) that started the first waves of Chic/Sister Sledge nostalgia in the mid eighties.

Famous quotes containing the words greatest, hits, chic and/or sister:

All sound heard at the greatest possible distance produces one and the same effect, a vibration of the universal lyre, just as the intervening atmosphere makes a distant ridge of earth interesting to our eyes by the azure tint it imparts to it.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    Life begins to happen.
My hoppped up husband drops his home disputes,
and hits the streets to cruise for prostitutes,
    Robert Lowell (1917–1977)

Any gentleman with the slightest chic will give a girl a fifty dollar bill for the powder room.
    George Axelrod (1922)

Whether changes in the sibling relationship during adolescence create long-term rifts that spill over into adulthood depends upon the ability of brothers and sisters to constantly redefine their connection. Siblings either learn to accept one another as independent individuals with their own sets of values and behaviors or cling to the shadow of the brother and sister they once knew.
    Jane Mersky Leder (20th century)
