Franz Kafka's It's A Wonderful Life

Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life (1993) is a short comic film for BBC Scotland. It was written and directed by Peter Capaldi, it stars Richard E. Grant as Franz Kafka, and co-stars Ken Stott.

The title refers to the name of the writer Franz Kafka and the film It's a Wonderful Life directed by Frank Capra, and the plot takes the concept of the two to absurd depths. In 1994 the film won a BAFTA award for Best Short Film. The following year it tied for an Oscar for Live Action Short Film with Trevor.

Famous quotes containing the words wonderful and/or life:

It is commonly supposed that the art of pleasing is a wonderful aid in the pursuit of fortune; but the art of being bored is infinitely more successful.
    —Sébastien-Roch Nicolas De Chamfort (1741–1794)

Yet come to me in dreams that I may live
My very life again though cold in death:
Come back to me in dreams, that I may give
Pulse for pulse, breath for breath:
    Speak low, lean low,
As long ago, my love, how long ago.
    Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830–1894)
