FLA is a language immersion magnet school in the Kansas City Public Schools. Basic subjects including math, science and social studies are taught in Spanish and French. After the first grade, previous language is required in order to enter a Kansas City Public Schools Foreign Language Immersion. FLA's school hours are 7:20am to 2:25pm. The school offers an after-school LINC program running as late as 6pm. FLA students are required to wear uniforms.
