For An Angel

"For An Angel" is a trance debut track by German DJ Paul van Dyk. His most famous track, it was initially released in 1994 as a track on 45 RPM on the MFS record label, which was van Dyk's first album. It was later reworked and re-released in 1998 as "E-Werk Remix" on Deviant Records, a homage to the E-Werk nightclub where van Dyk used to be the resident DJ, charted around the world, reaching #1 on the UK Dance Chart for several weeks. In 2009, van Dyk retooled the track once again on "For An Angel '09".

Three videos exist for the track, one from 1994, filmed in the Riviera Maya in Mexico; the other from 1998, featuring footage from the Love Parade in Berlin; the third from 2009, filmed in an exhibition in L.A. and Berlin. The first video is available on Global.

This song and another Paul van Dyk song "Buenaventura" shares the similar subtle synth riff. "Buenaventura" is on a slower tempo, and adds lot of reverb to the original riff.

Famous quotes containing the words for an and/or angel:

Any day, any minute we bless God for our being or for anything, for food, for sunlight, we do and are what we were meant for, made for—things that give and mean to give God glory.
    Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844–1889)

It is only for a little while, only occasionally, methinks, that we want a garden. Surely a good man need not be at the labor to level a hill for the sake of a prospect, or raise fruits and flowers, and construct floating islands, for the sake of a paradise. He enjoys better prospects than lie behind any hill. Where an angel travels it will be paradise all the way, but where Satan travels it will be burning marl and cinders.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
