Platforms and Tracks
This station has three high-level platforms serving four tracks. There are two tracks between each platform. Main Line trains (only a few of which stop here) use the two northernmost tracks, while Hempstead Branch trains use the two southernmost tracks. Platform A (northernmost) is an eight-car long side platform next to Track 1 of the Main Line, generally used by trains westbound to New York City. Platform B is a 10-car long island platform, generally for access to eastbound trains on Track 2 of the Main Line (on the north side of the platform), and westbound trains on Track 1 of the Hempstead Branch (on the south side). Platform C (southernmost) is a 10-car long side platform next to Track 2 of the Hempstead Branch and generally used by Hempstead Branch trains eastbound from New York City.
