Flash fiction is a style of fictional literature or fiction of extreme brevity. There is no widely accepted definition of the length of the category. Some self-described markets for flash fiction impose caps as low as three hundred words, while others consider stories as long as a thousand words to be flash fiction.
Famous quotes containing the words flash and/or fiction:
“So, she will never leap up that way again, with the yellow flash of
a mountain lions long shoot!”
—D.H. (David Herbert)
“Given that external reality is a fiction, the writers role is almost superfluous. He does not need to invent the fiction because it is already there.”
—J.G. (James Graham)
