Field Work (1979) is a collection of poems written by Irish Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney.
Fieldwork was written during a time when Heaney was away from his family, due to work. One of Heaney's best known poems, 'The Skunk', can be found in this collection. It's a poem about his wife, who he refers to, by using an extended metaphor, as the skunk. Heaney has been recorded reading this collection on the Seamus Heaney Collected Poems album.
